A CHILD’S Dream (Developmental Rehabilitative Early Assessment and Management) Foundation, Inc., Baguio’s first pediatric therapy center for special children, celebrated the 101st Baguio Charter Day with “A Day In A Life of A Special Child” on September 25, 2010 at 2 – 4 pm at SM City Baguio. Executive Director Mita Dimalanta stated “This is the culminating activity of “A Child’s DREAM…To Dance”, Cherry T. Velarde-Mactal’s dance therapy sessions, which commenced last July 16, 2010.

Dance therapy sessions are free for DREAM patients. The presentation includes both normal and special children, as it depicts the life of a special child. It has been observed that the special children model after the normal children in the sessions and rehearsals. The child, Naomi, is part of a family as she performs her activities of daily living. It is the first of its kind – pioneer presentation in the history of Baguio City & the Philippines. We aim to integrate the special children in the mainstream of society. Special children go through life like normal children with a lot of help from their parents, siblings, caregivers. The roles of the developmental and behavioral pediatrician, therapists, teachers will be shown.

Founder & Medical Director, Dr. Francis Xavier Dimalanta declares “All children are unique and receive the best possible care & monitoring of their health & development. Children with developmental challenges have special needs that are addressed in a holistic manner. The multi-disciplinary DREAM Team’s main goal is to help the child achieve his fullest potential.
